THE WALKING DEAD Adds a Trio of Series Regulars for Season 8
Spoilers for The Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead concluded season seven earlier this month, a season which saw the introduction of the Scavengers and leader Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh). The junkyard gang who talk like Tarzan aren’t one of the more popular additions of the show, and it was no surprise when the admitted vultures turned on Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the Alexandrians midway through the season finale, but we’ll have to see more of the bad-haircut-having stinkers as McIntosh has been promoted to a series regular for season eight, launching in October.
McIntosh is joined by Steven Ogg — who plays Simon, the charismatic and demented right hand man of Savior leader Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) — and Katelyn Nacon, who plays Enid, an orphaned survivor of the Alexandria community, introduced late in season five. Enid has been spending more and more time at Hilltop, the neighboring farm-like community currently being unofficially run by Maggie (Lauren Cohan).
As for what season eight has in store, we’ll find the Alexandria, Hilltop, and Kingdom communities banding together in All Out War against Negan and his army of Saviors. “It’s going to become a bit more kinetic and fast-moving, because that’s where the story is going,” showrunner Scott M. Gimple says of The Walking Dead season eight. “The content is definitely going to be determining the form.” The Walking Dead returns to AMC in October.
