“The Hateful Eight” Wide Release Update

While Quinten Tarantino fans have known for a while that The Hateful Eight is set to open in limited release on Christmas Day, the Weinstein Co. has changed the wide release date from January 8th to January 1st, 2016. Although there are several new releases debuting on Christmas Day, such as: Joy, Daddy’s Home, Concussion, and Point Break (2015), the Weinstein Company’s wide release date shift will allow The Hateful Eight to open unopposed: There are no other wide releases debuting on January 1st. Also, The Forest, a horror film starring Natalie Dormer, and The Masked Saint, which is a drama, will open on January 8th. Neither of these films should pose any threat to the latest film from Quinten Tarantino.

The Hateful Eight, stars: Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walter Goggins, and Channing Tatum.
