Netflix Announces Return Dates for ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK and UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT
Streaming giant Netflix is home to such hit original series as House of Cards (returning for its fourth season March 4th) and Daredevil (releasing its second season March 18th), and the company is set to expand their ever-growing slate of original programming with new productions such as Fuller House, arriving February 26th, and The Get Down, arriving August 12th. Fan-favorites Orange is the New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – entering their fourth and second seasons, respectively – have proved to be breakout hits, resulting in critical acclaim and tremendous fan response from viewers.
During the Television Critics Association winter press tour it was revealed that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be returning for its second season on Friday, April 15th, with Orange is the New Black debuting its fourth season on Friday, June 17th. Co-created by 30 Rock‘s Tina Fey, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt centers around the titular Kimmy (The Office‘s Ellie Kemper), a plucky and naive former cult member who takes on the Big Apple in order to reclaim her life. Co-starring Jane Krakowski, Tituss Burgess, Lauren Adams, Sara Chase, Sol Miranda and Carol Kane, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is an outrageous, bright, and fun look at the world through an eternal optimist’s eyes.
In the critically acclaimed and award-winning hit series Orange is The New Black, Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) navigates life among the female prisoners of Litchfield Penitentiary. Co-starring Uzo Aduba, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Natasha Lyonne, Laverne Cox, Dascha Polanco, Michael Harney, Danielle Brooks, Taryn Manning, Selenis Leyva, Yael Stone, Nick Sandow, Samira Wiley, Lea DeLaria, Jackie Cruz, Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Adrienne Moore, the anxiously-awaited series has contributed greatly to Netflix’s presence in the world of exclusive, digital content.
