Naomi Watts’ replacement has been found for “Blonde”

In an excellent bit of casting news The Wrap has learned that a replacement has been found for Naomi Watts in “Blonde.”

The film, about Marilyn Monroe’s journey from childhood through super-stardom, will now star Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty”) as Monroe.

This isn’t going to be a straight biopic as it’s an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ novel of the same name, and is based on facts about her life, but imagines a troubled and rich inner life to the star.

Director Andrew Dominik (“Killing Me Softly”) has been working on this for a while, and it’s great to know such an amazing actress will handle such an iconic role. zz
