Michael Douglas Returning as Hank Pym in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP
Michael Douglas, who co-starred in Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man as brilliant scientist Hank Pym, has confirmed his involvement in the 2018 sequel.
“Getting ready to play Dr. Pym again in Ant-Man 2 shooting in July,” Douglas revealed in a Facebook post. “Need to start growing the goatee now.” Ant-Man and the Wasp — which will feature Pym’s daughter, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), suiting up as the high-flying Wasp — is scripted by Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari and Academy Award winner Adam McKay (The Big Short) with Paul Rudd, who stars as former con-turned-superhero Scott Lang, and returning Ant-Man director Peyton Reed.
“I think one of the appealing things about coming back for a sequel is to be able to build it from the ground up this time,” Reed previously said of the sequel. “Also, [there’s] stuff that we clearly set up in the first movie that we want to pay off and have fun with in the second movie. Since we know the origins, we can go in some weird, unique and different territory.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp flies into theaters July 6th, 2018.
