Marvel’s SPIDER-MAN Has Officially Found Its Writers
In February, it was announced that Sony Pictures – who holds the screen rights to Spider-Man – would be teaming up with Marvel Studios for a new Spider-Man film, set to release in 2017. Marvel Studios, of course, is known for such hits as Iron Man, The Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
While details are scarce – we know from master producer Kevin Feige that Marvel will be aiming for a “John Hughes” tone with their Spider-Man – we have a director, a star, and now writers in place. While speaking on NPR, writing duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein officially confirmed they will be turning in a script for Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Said Daley: “We can finally acknowledge [Spider-Man]. This is the first time that we can say that we are writing it.” Goldstein followed up with, “We’ve been saying no comment for the last week.”
Daley and Goldstein recently co-write (and co-directed) Vacation for Warner Brothers, which releases July 29th. Now that Spider-Man officially has its writers, hopefully it’s not too long before we start getting details about the webhead’s next big-screen adventure!
