James Wan and David Leslie Johnson Return for CONJURING 3
The Conjuring series has proved itself (twice) to be one of the premiere horror franchises of the decade. With the first film grossing about 318 million and the second 320.3 million, it’s safe to say that the paranormal movies have proven to be quite a success. With a big following and admiration from critics, the third installment has a lot of pressure going into it. But not to worry Conjuring fans.
It’s been known for a while that director James Wan is not returning to direct The Conjuring 3, but good news. According to Deadline, he’s returning to produce for next chapter! And wait, there’s more! Acclaimed horror writer David Leslie Johnson, who co-wrote The Conjuring 2 is set to return to pen the new script. So don’t worry Conjuring junkies, you got your fix.
The plot has yet to be disclosed, however, it has been said that the threequel will break the franchise’s trend of a paranormal house haunting. Also, Wan has stated several times that the film is supposedly set in the 1980’s.
With the The Crooked Man in development right now and The Nun currently being shot with director Corin Hardy, (And hey let’s not forget about Annabelle) it’s safe to say that The Conjuring franchise is alive and well.
