Jack Black to Return as R.L. Stine in GOOSEBUMPS: HORRORLAND
Goosebumps author R.L. Stine has revealed new Goosebumps 2 details, confirming the return of actor Jack Black in the role of R.L. Stine, an author whose imaginative horror books have the power of unleashing his creepy creations on the world.
The real-life Stine broke the news on Twitter, sharing that a script for the Goosebumps sequel exists and that Black has signed on to star. A second tweet noted the film is tentatively subtitled “Horrorland,” and to look out for the return of Slappy (voice of Jack Black) — the evil ventriloquist dummy with a mind of his own. Goosebumps director Rob Letterman will helm the sequel, reteaming with Goosebumps scribe Darren Lemke. The 2015 family comedy was a success, bringing in $150 million worldwide.
Described by Stine as “the scariest place on Earth,” Horrorland is a fright-filled amusement park run by creatures known as Horrors. Goosebumps: Horrorland was a series of 19 books that included such titles as “Revenge of the Living Dummy,” “Who’s Your Mummy?,” “Little Shop of Hamsters,” and “Escape from Horrorland.” Sony Pictures will release the sequel on September 21st, 2018.
