According to ComicBookMovie, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” has just crossed $300 million world wide.
This could be part of the reason why we are starting to see some movement on Marvel property “Inhumans,” and its adaptation to film.
It would make sense for Marvel to gamble on another lesser known property that has some incredible new elements to it.
Add to this that “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” hit is big domestically with $65 million, and will surely make even more once it opens internationally in the fall, and you’ve got a busy August weekend.
Paramount Pictures has announced that “TMNT 2” will be released June 3rd, 2016.
The studio has faith that this is a long term franchise, and is willing to pit it against bigger properties in the dead of summer.
