DisneyXD’s BIG HERO 6 Animated Series Lands a Super Cast
Big Hero 6 – Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2014 hit about a young tech genius and his bond formed with a robo-nurse, Baymax, and a team of gifted young minds – is coming to TV. The DisneyXD series was announced back in March, and now Oh My Disney has announced the cast for the upcoming ‘toon. Reprising their roles from the film are Ryan Potter (Hiro), Scott Adsit (Baymax), Maya Rudolph (Aunt Cass), Jamie Chung (GoGo), Genesis Rodriguez (Honey Lemon), Alan Tudyk (Alistair Krei), David Shaughnessy (Heathcliff) and Stan Lee (Fred’s father). Damon Wayans Jr and T.J. Miller – who voiced Wasabi and Fred, respectively – won’t be returning. In their place will be Khary Payton and Brooks Wheelan.
New additions to the cast include Jennifer Lewis as Professor Granville, Anrew Scott as villain Obake, Andy Richter as Globby, Sean Giambrone as Richardson Mole, John Ross Bowie as Mei, Diedrich Bader as Bluff Dunder, Susan Sullivan as Fred’s mother, and Haley Tju as Karmi, Picking up immediately after the conclusion of Big Hero 6, the animated series finds Hiro, Baymax, GoGo, Honey Lemon, Wasabi, and Fred setting out on high-tech adventures to protect the city of San Fransokyo – while they’re not dealing with the trails and tribulations of being college kids at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. Big Hero 6 comes to DisneyXD in 2017.
