DEADPOOL 2 Gets Official Release Date

20th Century Fox has finally staked out an official release date for Deadpool 2.

Deadpool — the 2016 superhero action / comedy that took in $760 million worldwide on a budget of just $58 million, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time — starred Ryan Reynolds as a mercenary in seek of revenge and aiming to rescue his lover after a twisted experiment left him with a super shitty complexion and healing abilities.

Deadpool 2 will open June 1st, 2018, smack dab in the middle of blockbuster season (Deadpool released in February). Last week, we learned Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, Avengers: Infinity War) won the role of Cable, the second newcomer to the franchise following the announcement of Atlanta actress Zazie Beetzas mutant Domino.

Fox also staked out release dates for X-Men spinoff New Mutants (April 13th, 2018) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2nd, 2018), sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse. (No word on Gambit, the potential X-Men spinoff that could star Channing Tatum, if the movie ever works out all of its problems.)
