CARS 3 Reveals New Poster, Cast Members
Disney Pixar’s Cars 3 races into theaters this summer, and old favorites Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), Sally (Bonnie Hunt) and Ramone (Cheech Marin) will be joined by a new cast of car-acters. (Sorry).
Two main players were introduced earlier this year: there’s trainer Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo), and Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer) – a next-gen millennial and a frontrunner in the next generation of racers who wants to put the veteran Lightning out to pasture. Disney Pixar announced today that Kerry Washington, Nathan Fillion and Lea DeLaria will lend their voices to the Cars threequel.
“We’re introducing some fun and really appealing characters in Cars 3,” says director Brian Fee, “so we really wanted to find the right voices to help us breathe life into them. We hit a home run with this group; I couldn’t be happier.”
Washington voices Natalie Certain (above), a “highly respected statistical analyst who knows her numbers. Book-smart and mathematically gifted, Certain is a fresh voice in the racing world. While she may earn top marks in her ability to evaluate a racer’s stats, she could be underestimating the importance of determination.”
Fillion plays Sterling, a “brilliant businesscar” and head of the Rust-eze Racing Center training facility. Dapper and unassuming, Sterling is willing to do anything when it comes to business.
DeLaria voices Miss Fritter, a big school bus and demolition derby legend with “smoke stacks of doom” — and a knack for collecting license plates of her victims.
Disney Pixar has also released the newest poster for Cars 3, which sees Lightning McQueen leading the way against Ramirez and Storm.
Cars 3 zooms into theaters June 16th.
