“Batman: The Killing Joke” Voice Cast Adds Kevin Conroy & Mark Hamill
Batman: The Killing Joke, the latest DC Universe Animated Original Movie, was announced at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. This film is based on Allan Moore’s seminal graphic novel, The Killing Joke, which features the origin story of Batman’s greatest enemy, The Joker.
Even though many have speculated and hoped that Kevin Conroy (“Batman: The Animated Series”) and Mark Hamill (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) would once again provide the voice of Batman and the Joker in Batman: The Killing Joke, it is now official.
Hamill had the following to say about this: “The chance to work once again with Kevin Conroy, my favorite Batman, in what some consider the definitive origin of this iconic villain is a dream come true for me. I am beyond thrilled to return as The Joker in The Killing Joke!”
Kevin Conroy had this to say about portraying Batman yet again: “I’ve had the great privilege of voicing Batman for more than two decades, and some of my favorite moments in the recording booth have been alongside Mark Hamill. Mark always enables me to be a better actor. I’m thrilled that we’re both back to bring these characters to life in one of the most heralded Batman/Joker stories of all time.”
Other voice cast additions include Tara Strong, who will voice Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, and Ray Wise, who will voice Commissioner Gordon. Batman: The Killing Joke will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD over the summer.
