Animated ANT-MAN Shorts Coming to Disney XD
Marvel Animation is bringing a little bit of a big hero to Disney XD.
Scott Lang, who made his live-action cinematic debut in 2015’s Ant-Man as played by Paul Rudd, will star in the animated shorts alongside his high-flying crime-fighting partner, the Wasp, and Hank Pym. Josh Keaton (Disney’s Hercules, The Spectacular Spider-Man) will voice the shrinking hero in six two-minute shorts that will premiere on Disney XD June 10th and June 11th.
Marvel’s Ant-Man comes from Passion Pictures, the same studio that previously crafted shorts starring Rocket Raccoon and Groot of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach will direct the shorts, from scripts by by Brian Wysol and executive-produced by Alan Fine, Dan Buckley, Joe Quesada, Cort Lane, Stephen Wacker, and Stan Lee, who co-created the Marvel Comics character in 1962.
“Science Fair,” “Alien Invasion,” and “Soup Time” will debut on Disney XD on Saturday, June 10th at 7:58 a.m. ET, with “Alien Invasion” and “Soup Time” again airing at 11:58 a.m. and 2:58 p.m. “Exterminator,” “Proton Cube,” and “Not a Date” will air 11:28 a.m., 5:28 p.m., and 8:58 p.m. Uh, set your DVRs.
Disney previously set Star Wars Forces of Destiny, animated shorts starring various heroines of the Star Wars galaxy, for a Disney XD summer debut.
